If you brother jumped off the bridge, would you do the same?

The first time I felt like I was in big time trouble was when my brothers tongue got stuck to the metal on the inside of our freezer door.  Our fridge was pink , big in the early 70’s. K2 who always had something new to tell me when it came to science etc, told me that if you stuck your tongue on frozen metal, it would stick to it.    I found this amazing and at the same time did not believe it.

To make a long story short….

I called my dad confessing K2’s tongue was stuck on the  inside door of the fridge.    First silence and then the question….. what would make  your brother lick the door?  “me?”

He told me to pour water on his tongue and it would take care of the problem, something he learned in the Air Force, working on planes.  I did as I was told and we both looked at each other as if magic had happened. My brother had a soar tongue  and fortunately  forgot I was to follow suit.

As life went on, there were many more experiments  and dumb things we tried, eventually learning the saying, “if your brother or sister  jumped off the bridge would you do the same?”  Apparently not.
