Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu. When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner, and someone saw my grin…When he smiled I realized, I passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile, then I realized it’s worth…A single smile, just like mine, could travel around the earth.
So if you feel a smile begin, don’t leave undetected…Let’s start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected.
The Smile poem was written byKaren McLendon-Laumann, the photos are Kelly Kittell and family. He’ll never know how much his surprise “jump in the photos” make me laugh when the film is developed.

I have three more post from our last three camping trips. I feel soooooo fortunate that we’ve camped 6 weekends since May 1 and rented 2 homes away from home, another two. This is what enjoying life is all about!

We took our trailer out for it’s maiden voyage this past weekend. I asked the men in the photo if they were part of the fishing tournament. They were out to have a good time, enjoy the weather and fish. The one on the far left showed a photo of a 13 lb trout he caught the weekend before.
Afterwards, I wished I had asked their names……today, I found out the catcher of the 13 pounder is a good friend of someone I work with. I guess that’s why we’re known as the “Biggest Little City” in the world.
PS. In case they read….the license plate says it all!
Yuri’s night is celebrated every April throughout the world. Yuri’s space parties were held in 46 countries, Reno’s was held at Club Underground.

….no matter WHAT you call them, the festivals are always fun!
The first time I attended a Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry, there were visions of pieces of meat that looked like liver but light in color. Thank goodness I never saw them before they were cooked, because I eat them yearly at the Virginia City Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry. I’ve had them in stews, tacos, eggrolls, eggs, appetizers……….you name it I’ll try it. This is an event my husband won’t miss, because supposedly they make you a bit more manly having more testosterone in your body. I keep checking my chest to make sure there are no hairs popping up and so far my voice is a nonstop female voice. Anyway, the festival is a fun day and Virninia City also host their St. Patrick’s Day parade at noon. We’ve gone for the past 7 years watching it grow from hardly anybody to huge numbers. I’m hopng my husband enters next year, making his awesome XXXXXX (secret) out of them.
These are some of the photos from the day….

It’s all about presentation…
my favorite, in a California Roll with a shot of red wine.

We found this happy Irishman on the way out of town!
….and in a blink, January dissapeared.

Eighty two people celebrated my husband’s retirement last weekend, he left the happiest man, knowing everyone had a good time. He walks around the house this evening with his new retirement badge, flipping it open, “Agent Olson, retired” and then a laugh. I like others, wonder if it will be a sudden hit and take some time getting use to, he is POSITIVE… it will be great thing right away. In that case, I know it will be great.
Some of the business cards I designed had a photo of him kissing a fish. It was a way for his close friends and coworkers to google kissingfish and catch up on what’s going on in his life and family through this blog. The name “Kissing Fish” says it all, “Life is good,” congratulations, baby…..

The first time I felt like I was in big time trouble was when my brothers tongue got stuck to the metal on the inside of our freezer door. Our fridge was pink , big in the early 70’s. K2 who always had something new to tell me when it came to science etc, told me that if you stuck your tongue on frozen metal, it would stick to it. I found this amazing and at the same time did not believe it.

To make a long story short….
I called my dad confessing K2’s tongue was stuck on the inside door of the fridge. First silence and then the question….. what would make your brother lick the door? “me?”
He told me to pour water on his tongue and it would take care of the problem, something he learned in the Air Force, working on planes. I did as I was told and we both looked at each other as if magic had happened. My brother had a soar tongue and fortunately forgot I was to follow suit.
As life went on, there were many more experiments and dumb things we tried, eventually learning the saying, “if your brother or sister jumped off the bridge would you do the same?” Apparently not.
